Hi guys,
Thought I'd offer this to you on here first instead of putting straight onto Ebay. I know its a car forum & this is a bike, but at least it''s a Jap bike. If you know of any young 'uns that are doing their bike test then let them know about this please.
I've used this bike to get to & from work on for the last 3 or so months. I originally bought it to have it as a little project & as an economical way of getting to work, but I don't really have the time to do it now as my g/f is in the process of starting up her own dog walking business & I guess I'm a bit of a pansy fair weather rider :redfaced:
I really enjoy riding this & for a 30 year old who has been used to driving cars since 18, I'm very supprised at how well she goes round corners & how well she goes when the loud button is pressed The YPVS is fully functional & you can feel it kicking in. This has no probs doing a ton :shades: .
I bought it from a customer of 'Revs' independent bike garage in Haywards Heath in West Sussex. Rob, the owner of Revs, has known of this bike for some time now & has serviced it for many years.
The bike was originally imported in August 2000 & has had 3 previous owners. All MOT slips are present as is the V5 document & current MOT runs out on 30th July 08 & mileage is still in KMS reading 26000.
The bike as you can see from the pictures is cosmetically tatty, but it is mechanically sound. Rob wouldn't have recommended that I buy it if it weren't a good one. There are cracks in the plastic where the 2nd owner had dropped it, & where he had left it out in the sun it has UV damage to the colour on the right hand side. I have all invoices & receipts for work carried out in this country. In face a folder full of invoices.
When I first bought the bike I was looking on Ebay for spares & there were always spares for the 4DL knocking about. German Ebay is a particular good starting point for spares.
It starts every time, first time & rides like it should. Even though it's been dropped, the frame is still in excellent condition. I started it up for the first time yesterday in about 2 weeks & it fired up straight away. I was even temped to take it out for a ride, but the weather wasn't at it's best.
Tyres have loads of tread on them & Rob tells me that the rear tyre is a better one than standard as it's wider & stickier
I was planning to theme the project on a Redbull 125 R I saw being broken on Ebay. I have a picture of it on my PC at home which I'll add to this when I get back. I think it looks the dogs danglies :shades:
Anyway here are some pics of her. Like I said the plastic really could do with a bit of plastic welding or if you're really anal, replacing. Although I don't see it needing replacing as all the bolt holes are there & bolted onto the frame. The front fairing plastic is fine & does not need replacing. The rear storage compartment doesn't lock, thats why the bungie clip is there keeping it shut.
I have a brand new & unused right hand side fairing pannel, still with the foam protection covering on it included in the sale too. It's in a different colour to the bike, but if you're gonna get it resprayed, then thats not a problem.
Here are thepics:
Im looking for £700 as she is, including the brand new fairing. But I'm always open to any offers. All I can say is no thank you.
Cheers for looking,
Richard
