It's official guys, mazda are to release a new pure sports car-the new RX-9 for late 2009. It will be powered by a 3 rotor twin turbo pushing out 420bhp.

looks very nice, vast improvement on the RX8... looks like Mazda have 'seen the light'.. albeit a year or 2 behind everyone else!

Guess they're looking to take on the GTR, R8, Porsche etc etc. so will need to be a good package at a good price.

Is it a case of too little too late?

Nissan have had to revive the "GTR" to compete with the other premium brands.. there needs to be a very strong marketing campaign behind this... not many people will be spending 50k+ to drive a 'Mazda' and I don't think the 'RX' has enough stature in Europe to go alone

concept cars sometimes do look good, but i doubt the production "rx9" or whatever it might be called will look like that, and I seriously doubt it'll be a gtr beater Smile but good on em if they manage it.

Not my cup of tea. Looks to much like the rx-8 which I did not like overall. Face lift the rx-7. Now for its day that was a smart sexy looking quick car
