Got Proxes 4 on my Scooby. Blinding in the dry, virtually unstickable. Not too shabby in the wet, find the slides quite managable and to be honest, pretty good fun.

Know a couple of people with the new Yoko's on. They say they are fooookin lethal in the wet, almost undrivable in heavier rain Shocked

Falkans are a great choice, really good wet and dry. The only down side is lack of rim protection (not that kind either Rolling Eyes ) that's why so many cars imported from Japan arrive with Falkans on, because they are a cracking all round tyre.

never heard that noise from one before ???? they either woosh or like the hks they whistle (like noise on fast furious films) . yours sounds like wastegate chatter after an induction kit has been fitted !! those cheap copy ones have been known to mess up turbos and not last long as ive read on scooby/skyline forums !!! i would get rid of it asap before you do damage

Never seen Angers car in action so to speak, but CJ has got a 401bhp scooby and that is foooookin mental. He was saying on Sunday at Brands that he can't use 1st gear for fear of destroying the clutch and gearbox!!!! Shocked

We also had a P1 amongst the ranks a couple of years back, owned by a guy from Eastbourne (his name escapes me) that was pushing around 460bhp Shocked Shocked I was pushing about 320bhp at the time and he would pull away from me like I had my handbreak on!

Thats the joys off getting all the right bits first so i can use the power Thumbs Up!

keep the dc5 mate !!!! i was gonna go for a evo 4 or 5 but the running costs especially fuel and servicing every 3/4 k put me of . they need to be well looked after and me being a mechanic cant be arsed with looking after it all the time (bit like my scooby something always needed doing) . as you know the hondas are bullet proof and do everything well thats why i went for a ctr . i wanted a dc5 but cant stretch that much and i would have one of those over an evo/scoob/skyline any day !
at the end of the day its up to you but i know a few people now that have gone and got an evo a a few weeks later regreted it due to fuel costs and a small fuel tank !!!!

agreed with scooby

handling is the way forward lots of mods out there to suit im running jdm integra shocks and soon h and r springs full set up only cost me 200 then theres rear anti roll bars the one used in civic usually sheti im upgrading to itr again, then brakes also important Smile
itg , groupe m are very good the air box idea is a cheaper way of doing it. its not the all out power but the power to weight can easily get 180 bhp but if u can drop the cars weight down un sprung weight is very important.

just stick a good induction kit on it like aem , itg , groupe m etc , there a couple of hundred + and might make a difference on yours but does make a bit of difference on the type r (about 10bhp)

but like adam said if you want more buy a car with the right engine in as you will need to spend a fortune on a n/a car to get more power thats why my type r is staying as is (induction+exhaust) i could get a manifold , downpipe decat , remap and vtec controller but it will be just to loud and to expensive for a small power gain !!! + i cant be arsed to spend spend spend !!

if and when i get bored with the honda i will go and buy a turbo again - evo, scooby etc

if i were you i would upgrade the handling - antiroll bars , strut braces etc etc as you can really chuck the hondas about Driving

flippin heck what a bugger,

I've been having similar issues with Chris's scooby. his lambda sensor wires were rubbing against the drive shaft. the emissions as a result were all over the place.

It'll be good to see the green machine back on the road.

i have a 650 on the scooby, apart from the prox sensor, i havent had a problem with it, the prox is my fault though, i decided to see what the buttons did, and when it had made a few weird beeps i thought better of it, and from then on it went off after about 30 secs after i locked it! I jsut unplugged the sensor and keep it in the glove box, never a bother now! Thumbs Up!

right, well i have just sttripped back the main loom, from the lambda plugs to just before it goes back inot the cabin, fortunatly the melting had stopped about 6 inches before heading into the depths of the main main loom!! i think i found out where the original problem started, the heater for the lambda sensor, both the live and the return at the plug for the lambda are charred! fortunatly the damage to the power cable only goes along the single coduit for the lambda, but the earth damage goes all the way back to the bulkhead, about 3-4 feet of bare earth wire!!!!
I will get some pics of it tomoro if anyones interested!
i think if you have a scooby, check to make sure the lambda is ok, its caused me some serious headaches, real ones too!!!!!!! Its also cost me over 300 quid to find out its 5 quids worth of cable that needs repalceing!!!!!!!

As above , im thinking of changing the r33 for something else which i have been for a while even though i keep spending money on uprated bits !!!

Like i said to gaz and daz monday night i fancy something newer or just a change as im bored with the r33 !!
I was gonna get a neo and avcr but with setting up etc theres about a grand gone in total just to do that lot , and its a 95 car !
I mentioned to gaz how i miss the impreza and 4wd as you cant lob a skyline around like you can with a scooby or similar , the skylines are more at home on the bypass etc and more sort of top end where as the scoobys are power all the time (apart from top end) but i would not have another as been there done that !

I did fancy an evo 4 which i still like but are expensive to maintain , i would have a dc2 as i like hondas and did have a 160bhp eg vti a couple of years ago and loved it , or i have been looking at civic type r 04 onwards for 10 k or how about a dc5 ???
what would you get ? or chang ...
