whats the setup like?

i don't mind hard but at the same time I need them to dig in when hitting the loud pedal rather than bumping and bouncing

just springs give a very good firm ride, only reson i've changed to coilovers is that i wanted the car lower and so that it can be pushed harder but i wouldn't want coilovers for everyday use

tein are a good choice Thumbs Up! with my standard suspension it was very wallowy , then i changed to coilovers and it then became dangerous (arse bouncing out the seat) then went for bilstein (as there a bit stiffer) and hks springs , this was a good compromise between the two and it was harder and stuck to the road better , even putting the power down better without dipping at the back ! also helps with high speeds too ! adams old 33 has just hks springs wich have been on standard shocks i believe for years now Thumbs Up!

Well - I am used to playing with different setups on the coilovers (not on a skyline though i admit), but the main reason was so I could adjust from soft to hard for the style of driving i was doing - track/road/commute etc

Thanks for the advise

Andy - you have thesm fitted on your motor still? - fancy a demo as i'm just along the same road at work?

you can - but can't really afford new for the amount i just spent on carbon bonnet and bodykit etc.

The ride height needs to be dropped at least 30mm |(dropped 40mm currently) so that it looks right.

The other thing is that I like the possability of changing the height if needed (yes i know that its not 30 seconds to do - but if I move to somewhere with Speed bumps which is likely at this point - the option is there with out any extra cost)

so I guess - POO

My search is still on Sad

Appreciate the help though - out of curisosity what coilovers did you get?

I ran HKS springs on my gtst, the ride was excellent, not too hard, not too soft, was more than good enough for the ring, silverstone, brands etc... sure, decent coilovers would of given me an edge on track, but deffo wasnt necessary for trackdays. I cant think of a valid reason for coilovers on the street unless you really like backache and driving dangerously Smile

I've got Aragosta coilovers on now (which are AST rebranded for the jdm market, so i've been told) realy likeing the ride think the spring rates are 7kg front and 6kg rear, which seems about right for the road with the dampers set softish

oh and re: ride height, was never a problem for me, do you have some stupid front bumper or something as a 30-40mm drop with an OEM front bumper will give you no problems.
