Hi all, I have a small prob with my supra (n/a) it is getting no voltage to the fuel pump which means it doesnt start, however a membr from mkivsupra came and had a look and got the car started by putting a jumper wire in the +B to FP connections of the diagnostic port on the engine so that the fuel pump is running all the time when the ignition is on, so this is fine but only a temp fix, can anyone either recommend me a decent auto electrician, as I have had one out who spent 2 hours on the car and got no where so I would prefer one familiar with Jap cars, or I can easily drive the car to a garage who can read a wiring diagram and fix the prob! But I don't know any decent garages who are any good with Jap cars except one (AFR in Crawley) who seems to be booked up for weeks!

Thanks in advance Smile

Nell

Did Matt @ AFR offer no advice? he's on this forum Smile

Anyways, IF you got the fuel pump going by grounding the cable, then either the ECU isnt giving the signal to the pump, or the wire from the ECU to the pump is broken... I had this issue with my GTST and a power FC pro, and basically the eCU wasnt giving any signal to the fuel pump circuit, so hard wired it like yours.

I think I would first try borrowing an ECU if you can, should think someone on the mk4 oc would be able to?

Hi, I have spoken with Matt, but he seems very busy at the moment and I haven't heard from him about a date so I have to look else where for this problem as I do have someone coming to view the car next week.

I haven't asked to borrow an ECU on the forum, I do think you're right though, about it being a problem with the ECU as it is the only thing that has not been checked!

Thing is I wouldn't want to try fitting it myself, hence why I need a garage or an auto electrician who has experience of Supra's before.

Fortunately ECU's are very very easy to change, usually 1 or 2 bolts holding it in place, and a big plug connected to it with 40 or 50 wires, you cant really go wrong Smile

If you can get hold of one, and you're unsure about changing it, im sure someone here could do it for you, it'll literally only take a few mins to change around.

Smile

Agreed... ECU's are normaly very easy to change. If you can use a socket and plug in a games console I am sure you will be fine Thumbs Up!

it simply needs multmeter testing to find the break point.9 times out of 10 this problem is an immobiliser fault.
