it all depends on what boost you're running too... you do get the chatter sometimes, and its not harmful - most noticeable on high boost single turbo cars... (speaking from the RX7 world anyway)

then the springs too weak you can buy hks springs which fit the fakes too tho hks has stopped making service kits because of people like me which bought a fake and the service pack which has all the internal bits (seals springs washers etc) from the real thing basically making them no different just a 1/4 of the price

Which vacuum line should i have used? Would that make a difference? I used the one that the standard bov uses (two pipes that come out the top lead to)

if its dun up all the way the spring is at its tightest which would take alot of pressure for it to open and the pipe that runs to it should go between the turbo and throttle

na Ben don't listen to them..... have you fitted a fmic yet?
Ive had 8,ooo miles out of mine with no dump-valve at all running 1.1 bar... sounds the nuts as it stall and a compressor surge rushes out of the inlet side,.. then the waste gate chatters like buggery... I've recently removed the turbo (ct20b) and there is no visible ware on waste gate, inducer and exducer blades or thrust bearing's...

I think its personnel choice... If you fiddle with the dump valve I'm sure you can get it to work. take it off and see if you can make the piston move easily,... fiddle with the spring settings till it feels moderately difficult to move... then re fit it and go for a blatt... see what happens....

At the end of the day its just a toy innit Twisted Evil

a turbos 300 ish and new big ends 150 ish including bits ... have fun and keep an eye on turbo ware....

The bolt at the back should be wound out not in? It controls the amount of vacuum you let in to open the valve when the throttle is closed...

A lot of people with 200sx run the car without the dump valve to ge the pigeon noise. Apparently is doesnt cause the turbo problems unless you are running increased boost. Personally I'd still rather have the vta bov. Keep an eye out for a used SARD R2D2. I had one on my old car and preffered the sound to the KS one

I had a genuine HKSSQ D/V on my GT4 & it chirped rather than made a pssssstttt sound. I had the car for 3 years, running standard boost & the D/V was on it when it was in Japan & I never had any problems at all.

I think the HKSSQ D/V are meant to sound like that. Sounds more like a WRC rally car IMHO Thumbs Up! Twisted Evil
