Im going to look at another 01 plate golf gti turbo 150 bhp tom night , its 5door silver with full recaro leather , usual traction control , climate control etc etc and only 45000 miles with fsh for £5.5k(standard car) ive been looking at these as my mate can do a remap to take it to 197bhp for a few hundred plus need to fit forge bov and panel filter (not a revo map as there very spiky) i have been looking for a 6 speed 180bhp golf but there 03 onwards and more money but bigger spec and can be remapped to 210 bhp so not much of a gain !

im also going to look at a 02 plate satin silver civic type r with 48000 miles and full honda history with a top gear cat back exhaust , aem cai induction kit with cover and 18 inch gun metal rotas with polished lip for £6.5k with normal type r stuff like 6 speed etc etc but no a/c as that was a £1000 extra when new and this one doesnt have it and its also miles away from me !

what would you go for ? as there is a £1k difference !

also been looking for an integra type r uk dc2 but not many around and they fetch good money !

the 1.8ltr turbo VAG engine can be remapped and chipped to over 200bhp I thought?

in the Golf, as standard, the 1.8T has the highest BHP and torque of the range! (except R32)

what do you want the car for mate?

If you want the odd blat, attend some shows possibly even a half day track day go for the CTR.

If you're really not fussed about any of the above get the Golf.
