yeah they can, if its over 10 years old it's pretty much just a case of regging the car, fitting a rear fog light and slapping an MOT on it
Ooh sounds promising will need to visit the DVLA website methinks.
Thankfully we dont have to suffer that crap 'stick-on' foglight business here in NZ. |

Abbey Motorsport bills in the service history mean that you can talk to Abbey to get an opinion on the car if the work was significant and recent. They keep history on all cars they work on.
Also, Abbey Motorsport DO NOT charge over £100 per hour. That is utter bollox.
Not sure about the piston 2 info either, I have only heard of 6 giving issues, but only on high power builds.
Coil packs are fundamentally crap, but Splitfire sets sort this problem easily. Work suspension components (bushes etc) can make the car somewhat lively to drive.
The bottom line is regular oil changes. Every 3000 miles or less. Take no bull over this, if it's a GTR then it's oil changes very 3000 miles, service every 6000, major service every 12000 and huge service every 36000.
Cam belt should be done every 60,000 miles and is hideously expensive if it goes.
A well maintained R32 in near standard trim is the most sought after, so expect to pay nearer the 10k mark. Happy to wander alon ... |

they are not prone to faliure it is twits using wet filters or poor quality filters that cause the problems theres an iccle wire in there thats the maf this gets covered in grime which needs wiping clean alot of people just throw them away and say they are crap when in fact as with most cases its the owners that caused the prolem in the first place if its got apexis on it your safe hks or k&n then you may need to get your fingers dirty
if it has a coil pack problem make sure it hasnt caused other problems like pinking which could cause huge problems and huge repair bills listen out for piston slap and look for headgasket leakages if piston 2 is knocking walk away piston 2 is the only common failure on rb26dett's no one knows why but it happens ask any aa/rac man he'll tell you the same
check all water hoses and pipe work if any are perished or heavily corroded i'd look for another car cause one by one they'll all cause you problems
water pumps are an easy fix theres no rea ... |

I'd just like to say,... Big up to Gaz for helping me with this project
Without him this would not have been possible. Our combined knowledge of Toyota's 3S-GTE engine must be now second to none, not only do we know the mechanics of the 165 185 205 but now also know the electronic behind it.
Its been a steep learning curve, with many evenings having to try really hard not to kick the crap out of the car but with a lot of patience and discussion testing and diagnosis. I've now got 1 of only 3 know rev 3 conversions on a 165
He's given up evenings weekends to help me get this done, and had to put up with his partner giving him beep for coming home late and covered with old engine and trans oil
Once again Cheers Dude yoru a trooper |

i looked at the 328 and it needed 3 tyres , rear discs and the engine managment light was on !! i give up looking now , every civic type r is either a pile of crap or a cat d ! integras fetch stupid money for a good one ! gonna start looking at golf gti turbos now or maybe a tdi one as the way the fuel prices and road tax prices are going its mad i have tops of 6k to spend and can get a clean golf for about 4-5k so maybe thats the best way to go ? i might even look at a toyota corrolla vvti-tsport , 190bhp , 6 speed , traction etc etc similar to a ctr but more comfy and 5 doors instead of 3 |

pmsl,... I'm at the other end of the car market, £500 max,...(just to add the old celica I've got cost me £ 300 lol
over the past week I've been looking for a cheapo turbo to blat about in while the celica's off the road coz the transit is beepin boring to run about it and costs far too much to run,...
I've only seen two cars that looked (on paper) to be about right...
The first one was up in Harrow,... Bigends shot, body work shagged and turbo dead, none of which mentioned in the advert. probably worth 50quid he wouldn't go lower than 650 lol
The last one was just hilarious, the owner insisted the reason it was smokin so badly was the turbo exhaust seals had gorn ...... over a 1/2 mile drive it drank about a 3 pints of oil... when i finally managed to get the jammed on oil filler cap off it made no difference to the way the car ran... when i asked him about the piston rings he denied all knowledge... later that evening i went online to find posts on the owners ... |

Why is buying a car such hard work ?? yesterday i veiwed a 96 jdm integra type r which was clean and a nice car but to be honest i prefer the uk model so left it , i then went to sussex imports to see some evo 4s and they were all utter crap ! none of them were washed or hoovered , had stereos and the seat bolsters were absoluterly knackered and didnt have any history and he thought they were mint cars !!! this morning i left at 7.15 to go and see the 99 uk itr in london docklands , got there got out and had a look and it was an absolute bag of crap , every panel had been painted and there were runs in some of the panels but he just said its never been painted why cant people just be honest about the car they are selling before you spend £30 on petrol and travel 160 round trip to see it !!! then i went to see an 02 plate civic type r local to me with 93000 on the clock , the body was good but the mot runs out end of may , both front tyres were bald and the rear pads were shot ! and ... |
