I have had my air con pump removed to have the bearings renewed and ever since then I have had problems starting my car if it has been left for more than two days. It'll jump start OK.

When it doesn't start the voltmeter says battery is as low as 9.5V, put it on charge and it reads 2 amps till it is fully charged (12V). Starts on the button then. Once running the voltmeter says 14.25V, and after a run it says 12.2V. Leave it for a couple of days and it drops steadily. On Friday after not having started it for four days it read 11.1V and I thought it would start OK, but it didn't, so I had to jump it again.

Do I need a new battery or is it something else?

I removed the aircon pump belt on my r33 and had no issues, I would say your issues are coincidental, and yeah, your battery needs conditioning or replacing

Try disconnecting the battery and see if it holds its charge but sounds like battery replacement.

Sounds to me like you have a drain going on. A said, disconnect and see if it holds the charge, if not replace it, if it does, then you are gonna have to start looking into whats draining it.

if the battery's good then i've got a current tester that plugs into fuse slots to help identify what might be sapping power, you're welcome to use it mate

A full battery after a charge should be nearer 13v

12v is a flat battery. If its below 12v replace it.

Fit a new battery as that one has definatlely had it. If your new battery goes flat over the usual 2 days then you have a wiring fault that needs to be addressed before it damages something else and your new battery.
Thumbs Up!
